Ambassador Segun Olusola dies at 77

Ambassador Segun Olusola, dies Thursday night, June 21, after a brief illness.

 

The veteran broadcaster, foremost dramatist and Nigerian envoy, he passed away Thursday evening in Lagos after a brief illness.

 

He began his broadcasting Career in 1955 at the Ibadan station of the Nigerian Broadcasting Service. In September 1959, he become African’s first Television producer with the WNTV (now NTA Ibadan) in a television career that lasted till 1987. During his broadcast career, he is famed for being the creator of Nigeria’s the longest running TV Drama series, The Village Headmaster in 1968.

 

The founder of the African Refugees Foundation, devoted to the management of the root causes of Refugees and internal displacement was born in Iperu-Remo, Ogun State, March 18, 1935.
