At a recent CCCG conference, Joshua Osasuyi, the church’s spiritual leader, emphasises the need for Christians to bear fruit and imbibe the winner attitude

It was a week-long event and while it lasted, the ever-busy Benin-Agbor Road, Benin City, Edo State headquarters of the Christ Chosen Church Of God, CCCG, was turned into a mecca of sorts as leaders, ministers and members of the church all gathered to praise and worship God, creating a convivial atmosphere reminiscent of the communal life of early Christians.
It was the church’s annual international conference organised by the church with the memorable theme, Taking Over the Kingdom with Violence. Welcoming participants to the conference, Joshua Osasuyi, the spiritual leader and chairman, Church Council of CCCG, who was recently honoured by the federal government with the prestigious MFR title for his immense contributions to his fatherland, called on Christians to develop extraordinary ability in order to possess the kingdom of God. Osasuyi said Christians have a responsibility to be outspoken and speak anytime they notice that something was going wrong around them. He expressed his disappointment with the fact that most Christians now fail to speak out due to what he described as the influence of corruption, greed and fear, as gift and inducements are believed to blind a man and gag him from speaking against evil. He was not happy to hear things like that being done among Christians.
Taking his message from the book of Matthew 17:20, entitled, Nothing Shall be Impossible Unto You, Osasuyi enjoined Christians to improve in the way they worship and serve God, adding that anything without improvement becomes transient and always phases out with time. He also seized the opportunity to call on Christians to “fight the fight of faith. There is no limit for you if only you can be faithful to God. Don’t give up, but obey the word of God and nothing shall be impossible for you.”
On his part, Jude Ogbonna, another pastor, who spoke on the topic, Cowards are Losers, admonished Christians to be bold and courageous to proclaim the name of the Lord in every situation they find themselves, adding that any servant of God that is fearful will not possess the kingdom of God.
On the second day of the event, Osasuyi spoke on a theme that is generally believed among evangelical Christians to be dear to the heart of the Lord Jesus, Bearing More Fruits. He called on Nigerians to choose the path of righteousness, harping on the crux of the message that when Christians bear more fruits by preaching the gospel they easily find solutions to their problems.
The conference was however not all about Bible teachings alone. At some point in the course of the week-long event, Benin-based gospel musical group, Nosa and Franca, spiced the conference with soft music.
Situated on a large expanse of large along Agbor Road in Benin, the CCCG is one of the biggest Christian centres in the ancient city, with large following and a seminary located within the premises.
