A strike action embarked on this morning by staff of Aero Contractors has left hundreds of intending passengers booked on the airline’s flights stranded at the Murtala Mohammed Airport 2, MMA2. As early as 7am, passengers gathered at the check-in counters of Aero in the departure hall of the MMA2 preparatory to travelling. But as the minutes ticked to hours, frustration began to set in when it became clear that the flights would not take off.

A text message sent by the airline read: “Dear esteemed customer, Aero management do apologizes for lack of service today. This is due to the industrial action of some staff which is being looked into. Please bear with us.”

Richard Ibilola, one of the stranded Aero passengers, told the magazine that he had to hurriedly buy another airline ticket so as to get to Abuja for an urgent appointment.
