  Gaps in the procurement process were brought to the front burner at a recent conference organised by Etiquette Africana     By African Development Bank, ADB’s estimation, procurements account for 70 per cent of the budgets of most African countries. President Jonathan declares state of emergency in three northern states

  President Goodluck Jonathan has declared a state of emergency in three northern states - Borno, Yobe and Adamawa, in the wake of continuous insecurity in the states that has led to loss of lives and properties.   A deadly traditional cult terrorising communities in Nasarawa State ambushes security personnel on its trail, killing 30   Alakyo, a sleepy village in Nasarawa Eggon, Nasarawa State, would not be the same in a long time. Last Tuesday, worshippers of Ombatse, a local deity in the village, waylaid a convoy of security patrol vehicles heading for the shrine to arrest its leader and shot dead at least 30 of the 83 security men, which include policemen and State Security Service, SSS, personnel.
