Who Will Win the 2020 Champions League?
With a surprising exit from Liverpool, defeated by Atletico Madrid, the 2020 Champions League trophy will definitely find a new home. Last season, the boys in red played exceptionally well and managed to add another Champions League title to their case. But it seems that the idea of winning the Premier League trophy is more on their minds and took a toll on their Champions League campaign.
So since Liverpool is out, which team will win the Champions League title from the ones that are left.
Manchester City
It is more than clear that Pep Guardiola’s side not going to win the Premier League this season. Being 22 points down at this stage of the season is an impossible feat. Thus they are ready to turn their attention towards the Champions League and try and win it. However, another thing is on their minds. The fact that the Blues are suspended for next season and will not make an appearance in the Champions League makes them want to win it more.
The team is playing decently in the Champions League and if they can get past Real Madrid in the last-16, everything is possible for them.
Bayern Munich
Bayern has won seven consecutive German titles and is probably going to win the next one in just a few months. But during that time they failed to capture the Champions League trophy. Bayern got out of the group stage in a dominant fashion. Securing victories in all six of their games and scoring no less than 24 goals.
Led by Robert Lewandowski who is leading all goalscorers in the completion with 11 to his name is enough to make you believe that the Bavarian side can pull off a victory.
PSG
Even though they were down after the first leg, PSG did manage to come back and eliminate Borussia Dortmund by beating them by 2-0 at home ground. This puts the French side in the tightest most possible contention to win the title. PSG has been dominating Liga 1 for years now but they never managed to get even close to winning the Champions League title. This is perhaps the best opportunity that they will have in years.
They are playing well and seem in-sync. However, it also greatly depends on their major stars, Neymar and Mbappe can keep healthy till the end.
Barcelona
Some say that Barcelona should not be on the list. But no matter what everybody thinks, the Catalan side has Messi on their side. They may not be playing as you would expect and they are riddled with injuries. Suarez is out, Dembele as well, while Antoine Greizmann is not playing to his potential.
Nevertheless, we should never count out Barcelona. They are still fighting for the title in La Liga and they are one of the closest contenders in winning the Champions League Trophy as well.
