Casino tips for beginners
Organizing A Casino Night At Home

Sometimes, you want the full casino experience in the comfort of your home. A simple poker night will not do. You want the real thing, the special feeling for yourself, as well as your guests. Here is how you can organize a casino night at home.

Equipment

To be fair, you probably don’t need much more than a mat, a deck of cards, and some chips. However, if you want to go all-out, there are a few bits of equipment you may consider getting from your nearby store or online.

For example, you can get a roulette wheel and mats for different casino games on Amazon. Some manufacturers would let you have entire casino sets for $40 or less. By the way, Amazon was listed here just as an example, if you shop around, you can find deals and some of them won’t require delivery.

Dress Up

It’s like a dress-up party, only casino-themed. We want to look like dealers and high-rollers, so suits, vests, sunglasses, bow-ties, cocktail dresses, gloves, green eye-shades, or whatever else you can think of are encouraged. The point is to get the feeling of visiting a casino and playing the games as a matter of prestige and cunning.

Set the Mood

This may be tricky if you don’t have a lot of space to work with. If all else fails, use the same table, but alternate between the games at agreed times. Ideally, you will want to have three or four tables with different games being played.

Some of your guests can be designated dealers or, and this may be a better idea, they can switch places with other guests, depending on the game and/or time of night. You could hire professionals to act as dealers, but that is an unnecessary expense.

Don’t forget to dim the lights. Better yet, you could replace some of the bulbs in your apartment or house with colored ones. However, as these don’t provide a lot of light, you may want to get a lamp for each table that illuminates the game-space, but keeps the players hidden from each other.

Alcohol

Normally, you don’t want to mix alcohol and gambling. However, when it comes to fun at home, especially if you are not playing for actual money, it may be a good idea to have a few usual drinks set up. Whiskey and beer are a must, as is soda. The rest of your liqueur arsenal is up to your budget and the taste buds of your friends.

Have Fun!

The most important aspect of this whole enterprise is to have fun. Don’t worry about who won and who lost and don’t stress out too much trying to make things perfect. As long as you and your friends end the night with smiles on your faces, everything is fine. You have the tools. Now, get ready and organize a casino night they won’t soon forget!
